Went leaf peepin yesterday.
« on: October 24, 2010, 01:40:01 PM »
It was a nice day, 65 degrees and sunny. So I went leaf peepin, cafe style. Don't the colors look great?

Thanks HedNut, you keep saying nice things to me and I'll have to vote for BOTM early! A freind of mine Adam Labbe, he is an amateur photographer thats trying to find his groove. We rode yesterday, he has a new R6, he always has his camera gear in his backpack, so we stopped to turn around and he had this idea for a shot. I told him about the cool shot in the inspiration gallery where the scenery was moving. This is his interpretation. I'm not sure how he did it, I think its just the raw shot as it happened. I rode by at 45mph and he snapped the pictures. He did work on his timing alot, kinda just standing there and twisting back and forth.

You weren't one of those damn Connecticut-in-Vermont leaf peepers were you?  :) The SUV's with Conn. plates drive me crazy this time of the year.
But really, If you plan to get up this way, drop a line.  I'm usually up for bike ride.  That goes for anyone else visiting Vermont.

COOOL! Blur shots rock!   ;D Your amateur photographin' buddy is on his way to a budding career.... great shot.   It makes sense now!...follow the bike with the lense.
Give him a pat on the back for me! ahah (and a reacharound for yourself and that bike.... ;))

Works on reverse as well. Focus on the background, hold steady with a 1/60th of a sec., or less if you have a steady hand,  ;) and have someone drive their bike through the scene. The background will be sharp and the bike/rider will be the blur.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.

I'll look you up if I get up your way. I know what you mean about the tourists, lost, swerving, looking in trees.

That would be my bet. Kept CB550fcafe in focus panning his camera. Results would be CB550fcafe in focus with surroundings showing movement.

Here's one my brother took with just a crappy old HP 3.2 MP point and shoot. After numerous failed times of trying to catch a photo of me going around it a turn, he got this one and one normal. It was just the luck of the draw it turned out that way. The camera was on full auto but, I do think he panned to follow me.
