Hello,

Thanks in advance for your help.

Considering purchasing a Jardine 4-1 complete exhaust with jardine muffler that was made in 1973 for the Honda CB500

Will this fit my 1977 CB550F Supersport?

It will fit up front, the engine dimensions are the same. I'm not sure about the centerstand though.

The centerstand has been removed.... permanently.

I would still wait for a reply confirming this, but to the best of my knowlege it's a direct swap. I've never had an F model though.

you can go to the web site side and pull up picks of all the models, the only difference I can think of that might make a difference is the foot pegs are located a little differently.

I have one of each, but the K has been cut up pretty good, going to look at picks now

Thanks! Sure appreciate any help I can get.

This one of mine is chopped up too. Wouldn't think any changes would be so significant that a little bit of modification wouldn't overcome it. It's not a pristine stocker as said before. A bobber project. Thought the 4-1 would be a bit quieter than my aftermarket 4-2 which does sound great though. The change should also shed a few pounds I would think.

I think you should be able to use it. the only dif's I can think of was the kick starters on a K and F are different. the F has an extension on it the K"s don't have, I think that would only help the situation.

That explains another thing. I bought another kickstarter to modify from the same year CB550 but the difference was exactly how you explained it.

I made an offer to purchase so we'll see. Anyhow, the CB is in pieces currently. But working nightly on planning and acquiring the parts I need.

Will post pics when done sometime next year.

Complete Jardine exhaust still in the box from 1973!!!! Can't wait to hear what it sounds like next summer when I put it all back together..

Hey,

The Jardine exhaust should be here in a couple days. I can post the pics of them when they arrive.

But I'll see if I can post an couple images from Saturday , before and after I dismantled and chopped on it. Again, it's a bobber project. Was a nice bike before but not original. Had been a show bike in the late 80's early 90's from what I've gathered. A PO cut and welded near the steering head and the wheelbase has been extended 4". Also, the forks are +3" I think

Ya, I know. It's a limited market for anyone that would be interested. When it sells, I'm sure it'll go to Alaska or Canada!!!
Again, very nice art work but not in high demand around here. Think it's why I only had to pay $650.00 for the CB but I should be able to sell and recoup some of my purchase price. I'll try selling it in the midst of winter, not summer.
