This isn't legal advice, but I'm a licensed insurance broker, because there was no injury and you were made "whole" there isn't really a crime worth the police's time, it's a traffic ticket. It's only a crime when there is personal injury or death, and personal injury is not necessarily just a ride to the hospital, but that would have helped your case in this incident.
