I'd definitely advise against riding without one in a helmet required state....did that once.... >:(  didn't know I crossed the state line and didn't know Nevada required them..no signs at the line......

I always advise never riding without a helmet, regardless of where you are, but I prefer to let other motorcycle riders make their own decisions, unlike many voters and lawmakers.

This would not be a problem if you lived in a No Helmet state
like NH.
Unless you were wearing a helmet. :-\

People break laws all the time.  This would not be a problem if you were not wearing a helmet in the first place, regardless of the law.

Not condoning riding without a helmet... ;)
You do not need to wear a seat belt in NH either. The license plate says "Live Free or Die and they mean it." hey also have no Sales Tax. I buy everything  I can when I am in the area.

I had the same crap in the UK; an Exxon station refused to turn on the pump until my helmet came off. I flipped him off instead and took my business elsewhere, never going to that station again. It was the same at banks; signs telling you to remove your helmet as many robbers used a lid and a dark sheild.I could go in there with a hoodie or a hat and a scarf and no problem. Just more anti biker BS.

Hey Aussie guys, would you say full face helmets are more common in Australia than say 3/4 or 1/2 helmets?  In Australia is it common to be able to pump gas before paying?  Is there even any crime there anyway?  I am not trying to say anything, just curious.  Americans often need to be reminded that how things are done here is not necessarily the same everywhere.
If it works good, it looks good...

It is a terrible thing mate and a gutless cowards way.
Unfortunately it has become a far too common occurance.
People being struck in the face with a drinking glass which is violence fuelled by alcohol or drugs or a mix of both.
Injuries are horrific and permanent.
There is no place in our society for this.

Yes, not that long ago it was hardly heard of, now it seems to be the "fashion" - the horrific injuries are often far more devasting than a good old stoush, and usually inflicted with no warning or chance of defense - the attacker simply walks away leaving the victim bleeding, blinded, scarred for life and unable to retaliate or defend. Nice one. >:(
The pricks who do this should be bound in stocks in shopping centres and let the public loose on them.

And not to forget Chopper Read.
He is one mean mother.
Here is some background on one of our nastiest boys.

CRIMINAL ACTIVIY (From Wikipedia)

By his mid-teens, Read was already an accomplished street fighter and the leader of the Surrey Road gang.

He began his criminal career by robbing drug dealers, based in massage parlours in the Prahran area.
He later graduated to kidnapping and torturing members of the criminal underworld, often using a blowtorch or bolt cutters to remove the toes of his victims as an incentive for them to produce enough money so that Read would leave them alive.

While in Pentridge prison's H division in the late 1970s, Read launched a prison war.

His gang, dubbed "The Overcoat Gang" because they wore long coats all year round to conceal their weapons, were involved in several hundred acts of violence against a larger opposing gang during this period.

Around this time, Read had a fellow inmate cut both of his (Read's) ears off in order to be able to leave H division temporarily.

While in his early biographies Read claimed this was to avoid an ambush by other inmates, by being transferred to the mental health wing, his later works state that he did so to "win a bet". The nickname "Chopper" was given to him long before this, from a childhood cartoon character.

Read was ambushed and stabbed by members of his own gang in a sneak attack, when they felt his plan to cripple every other inmate in the entire division and win the gang war in one fell swoop was going too far.

Another theory is that James "Jimmy" Loughnan and Patrick "Blue" Barnes wished to benefit from a contract put on Read's head by the Painters' and Dockers' Union.

Read lost several feet of intestine in the attack. Ironically, Jimmy Loughnan was a longtime friend of Read's. Read was, at the time, serving a 17-year sentence after attacking a judge in an effort to get Loughnan released from prison.[citation needed]

Described variously as witty, charismatic, sadistic and frightening, Read admits to being involved in the killing of 19 people and a further 11 attempts.

Many of his associates in the underworld say he is prone to making up numbers to increase his own notoriety and the sales of his books. Read himself has stated several times he would "never let the truth get in the way of a good yarn". In a recent 2007 interview, Read admitted to being involved in the deaths of only four people, all of which were on the grounds of self-defence, he said.

Convicted of crimes including armed robbery, firearm offences, assault and kidnapping, Read spent 13 months outside prison between the ages of 20 and 38

Hey Pete
These threads always turn interesting.
I watched a Chopper movie a few years ago and still remember him pulling a sawn off 410 shotgun and doing a job with it.
Choppers reply - "Oh, sorry about that"
What can you say.  :D

i think hes the type of person to help a little old lady across the street then punch a drug dealer out and take his money in front of her.

He's a lovable larrikin/crim mate.

In his own way.

Drug dealers are his favorite people and he has a fetish for their toes and their illgotten gains.

He did some damage on the way through but that's Chopper.

As Dave mentioned in the last post, Chopper would help an old lady to cross the road.

The law just doesn't look at it the same way that Chopper does.

He's paid the price for his activities and he's taken it like a man.
