This is the weekend for the huge Lonestar Rally on Galveston Island which is just about 25 miles from where I live.  Hope some of you get to ride down and have a good time.  Weather is perfect, temp in the low 60's, crystal clear skies, light northerly breeze, should get up close to 70 by mid afternoon.  I live one block off a major route to Galveston and have had my VTX on the drive all morning spit shining it getting ready for the ride down.  The sound of hundreds of bikes cruising past the neighborhood is really sweet music, and I am just itching for the wife and I to mount up and join the fun.  Some of the group rides going past are in the hundreds of bikes.  Then a Contractor who has been hired to lay the tile throughout my house calls and says this is the only day he has to do the room measurements and tile selections.  And of course he can't be here until 3:00 PM!  If he wasn't really good at what he does I would tell him to stick it where the sun don't shine!

Oh well, at least tomorrow is supposed to be nice as well.   Take a look particularly at the photo gallery:

A very sad rider indeed.

I gave that a thought but once you get in that crowd and start looking at all the bikes you just can't leave.  Plus the wife is now getting excited about picking the tiles for the entry, kitchen, and dining room.  Been working on the house ever since Ike put a foot of salt water through it so this takes priority unfortunately.
