Would you be willing to share that 3D file with us? Surfaces or solids and what format is it in?

THX

Of course, that was my plan all along. I built it in Rhino, but I can export it as an IGES. Right not it's surfaces with linework. Nothing is trimmed or tidy yet. It's going to be fairly primitive.

I started making one in Solidworks earlier this year based on a K5 frame. I got pushed off the case because of school, but I'll be finishing it up during christmas and I'll be posting it on here as I'm done! Dimensions were taken from the factory drawings as well as my K5 frame!

Cheers!

Did anybody who was working up the CAD drawings fo the CB750K frame ever finish the project sufficient to produce a file that can be published and shared with the Membership?

On the other hand this is easier said than done.

Anyone can trace :| placing these dimensions to double check the work brings out a lot of issues. I trust the dimensions more than pixels and things are looking really wonky right now. Are there any other available copies of the 750 frame?

Here is what I have so far. Anny suggestions are very welcome(especially bend placement). I have used the suspension nodes and engine mounts as driving dimensions, Otherwise the frame diagram is distorted. Mind you this is still WIP.

It's cheaper to learn from someone else's experience but first you have to learn to tell the difference between a fact and a Furphy.

Looks ok what you have, I too have started a model in Autodesk Inventor. FWIW that crappy Honda drawing has given me nothing but problems with a goal on any kind of dimensional precision. What program are you using and have you verified any of the dimensions/angles/radii? I initially scaled those Honda drawings using a frame tube of known size but most of the drawing was out by alot. Rear end area by a couple of inches IIRC. Probably will get back on it soon but I keep wondering if that drawing is any sound base to create a reasonably precise model out of...It'd be easier to take a 3D scan of an actual living frame and proceed from there.

I have been working the same direction in solid works. Been working on a basic engine (750sc). Was going to start a frame next but if you are willing to share that would be awesome.

Now if we could just have a vector based file in Illustrator saved as a PDF.

Well I fixed up that drawing posted in Photoshop. a little levels adjustment and some sharpening. A lot better now. Still a JPG.
Here that is:
