I recently moved to Oroville (north of Sacramento) and am loving riding the roads here. I have already been up I70 along the feather river to quincy and beyond. That is a really gorgeous ride. on the way back we stopped at a place on the side of I70 called SCOOTERS. IT is a burger joint/ biker hangout. Anyone familiar with it?
Also, rode up to Shasta Mountain which was a nice ride. I5 gets all twisty up through the mountains.
I've been wanting to cut across to the coast and check out fort Bragg and head up north to the giant sequoia's. I've been there in my truck, but want to expereince it on the bike.
I have had my cb750k2 for about a year and a half now (it is my first bike) and I am really loving it. I took it on a trip to visit my parents in Los Angeles from Sedodna, AZ.. that was my first long tirp wiht it. My friend Rhonda and I took it don't to Puerto Penasco ini MExico shortly after the rebuild. That was a great trip as well.
I have only been riding with a group once and enjoyed the camraaderie. I love riding alone through the ountryside as well, though.
I have put about 15000 miles on the bike so far. Had it bored out to 836cc a few months ago and my mechanic recommended I upgrade my carbs to the ones he uses on his drag bike.. 31mm keihns(sp?) from a mid 80's cb650sc nighthawk... I found some on ebay in great shape for $41! Their not an exact fit to the cb750k2 but they are close enough that he was able to make it work and I love the quick throttle response.
My current issue is that when travelling at highway speeds when the wind hits the bike at a certain angle I lose power and have to spread my legs a bit to restore it
I can't use a stock airbox witht he new carbs, so I am thinking about trying one of the chrome boxes I see on ebay from time to time to see if that will cure it.
Anyway, it owuld be great to get togther wiht some sohc4 folks sometime.
