In preparation for a long journey, I usually adjust the points/timing, clean the plugs, adjust the drive chain etc.  I put the tools I use for those jobs into a canvas bag and strap it onto the back, thereby ensuring I can perform similar tasks whilst on the road.  On one month long tour of France I did a few years ago I also took spare inner tubes and strapped replacement cables to existing ones so that I could make a quick swap and save storage space.

where do you put the tools on a 650C.  I have pods on my 550F so the air cleaner box makes a nifty tool box. 650 is in original configuration and as Borat says "tools'? not so much"

Found a cool item to take along for emergencies.

Top Paw Lighted collar cover, for dogs. had an led red light with flashing or on mode, about 4 inches long, very visible. Comes with 3 velcro straps & battery/switch. its about 7ish inches long by 1 3/4 by under 1/2 inch thick..
This could save you or your buddies ass if you have lighting problems..

Some of us fix our own, rather than get it to a shop and get a room..

Cant imagine how long it takes to get help at 3 am, or what it would cost.. ???

if you pack the factory plug tube socket like me slip a length of hose that the plug connector end will slip into to help retreive and insert them.
