looks AWESOME brian!!  can't wait to get mine!!  i just might have to buff it out pretty good, that looks GREAT!

how much does the whole thing weigh by chance?  any idea?  i wonder what it's like compared to some stacks and the stock airbox...

Filter & back plate weight is 332gm, or 0.73lb.

.73lb. is pretty damn good!  The 4 pods I pulled off of mine are around .87lb.!

Mine, but it isn't sync'd yet.  There wasn't any real intake noise, but then the exhaust drowned out everything. ;) :)

1) When?
2) How much?

8)  Very nice job!  8)

I'll be posting pricing, ordering, and delivery info on Thrusday.

That's welcome news.  Seems like lots of things are coming together this week.  I'll make sure sufficient funds are in the bike account this week to pay for the set.

By the way, I noticed you mentioned you too had bought one of the big Caswell buffers last week.  Have you heard anything from them yet or has the holiday downtime delayed your order too?

You leaving he 2 inch overs on that one mate..?

Mick

Ha ha, no Mick, the "new" bike will bear no resemblance to the old, you won't recognise it.  ;)
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

So I said, "Hey mate, you haven't got any bike boots you don't need, do you?"

Actually I went and picked mine up from them.  It's about an hour+ drive.  Hope to try it out tomorrow for the 1st time.

My guess is it is black but just really greased up..

Actually the outside layer is grey (see previous photos).  The foam filter oil I used is from Torco, and is red.  I didn't wipe off any of the excess, and bagged it to ship.  The red is oil on the inside of the bag.  Once wiped it will be grey again, but oiled.

I think I may give them a call in the morning.  Their website still shows the status of the order as pending, even though payment was confirmed last week.

When I looked at the price of having parts buffed I knew I'd have to buy a buffer.  Hell, if nothing else when my son gets laid off maybe he can make some cash buffing parts.   Personally, I just can't wait to have frozen parts ripped from my frozen fingers to shoot around the shop like medieval weaponry, but with a great shine   ;D

Yeah the shine is everything, but a padded room can be an asset is cutting down on the ricochet. ;D ;D

Mine came from here ffj - http://www.caswellcanada.ca/shop/buffing-machines-stand/ - the 3/4hp kit.  Figure I've already paid for two of these, decided not to make it 3x's+.

An injected engine with proper stacks & real performance filter. ;)

What is the throat OD Mick, & injector c/c spacing?  There are some other applications I'm looking at.  Possibly one of those may work for you.

What buffer did you buy?

I ordered the same one TinTop did (3/4hp, high speed, with wheels and compounds), but from the US side of the house.  I just checked* on my order (showing as "pending" for a week on their website) and wasn't too much surprised to discover they were out of stock, but expect shipping to resume after their reorder arrives next week.  With any chance of even a hint of warm days fading rapidly as we cross into January and of course the dread of February why would I be surprised to learn that the thing will be delayed for another week?  The gods do what they chose with us mortal monkeys.

So the long awaited posting on pricing.

Basic Filter Kit (550 or 750) - Multi layer foam filter, alloy back plate pre-drilled, x4 molded black velocity stacks, x4 SS clamps

> $235 Cdn. SOHC members / Retail (eBay etc.) $269 Cdn. (+shipping)

Option - Coloured Stacks (Blue / Red / Yellow) > add $30

Deposit - $60   Balance due when ready to ship.

I would prefer Paypal. Please use this email brian.robinson7@sympatico.ca , and enter a note that it is a 'deposit for filter kit'.  If Paypal doesn't work for you, please email to work out an alternative.

Delivery - from placing order with ITG, will be about one month.

I would like to place that order as soon as possible.  Given the current list, I will be ordering 15, which are all currently spoken for.  I will of course order more if initially required.  I realize that some are waiting for test results, before committing.  If that is the case please email me.

Hey hey hey, don't go blaming Obammy mate, the GFC caused your dollar to go down the toilet, he's just the poor bugger carrying the can!  ;D

Done.

If it hadn't been for Obama we'd have seen a total economic collapse, which wold have spread world wide in less than a day (and we came within about 12 hours of that happening), caused exclusively by the Bush Administration and predation by its supporters and controllers.

Hey guys, guess how much people enjoy having their threads run off the rails with stupid political arguments?

Tinner, these do look exciting, but I'm gonna have to see how they work for a few people and figure out some stuff of my own regarding exhaust & suspension stuff before I know what kind of intake is going to fit for me.

Good luck with this, I hope it works out great for everyone involved.

FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

I've been more of a jump in head first and figure out my plans later with this build!  I see something cool (this intake, dry clutch, etc, etc) and I make it happen!!  I'll play the rest by ear later!

And I don't care a thing about politics, Im ignorant with it (one of the few subjects I'm proud to be uneducated and uninformed on) and I meant no misdirection for this thread, so my apologies.  Please bash me via PM if necessary :)

TT, I can't wait to get this freggin thing!!  With my custom oil tank I have in mind, I should have quite the open triangle!! :) :)

Paid! And I'm the same way wannabi. Ill find how it perfoms later when I have my motor. But with the thought that went into it, it has to be better then pods. How much thought was put into pods? And running stock is not an option (on the bike I'm building)
