Well - Terry put me on to this thread as the possible answer to my unruly 750 and I think he was right.

Lucky for me I live 15 minutes from Terry so I can call up and see the set up on a bike and running.

Subscribed and keen.

Today, at last, had a moment to mount the filterkit on my racebike. Because it is going on the streets it's going to need filtration. Man, it flew on in a blink of an eye.  No hassle, nothing. So far so good. Will take her out on the street and give feedback on how she behaves. But it all looks promising. here some snapshots, with cellular, to give a impression.

Enough room to mount even with my, somewhat manly -10, oillines.

Thanks to Brian for his efforts.

Cheers, Rob

  • did you bleed when you built that?
Much interest here, Im keeping my 750 stock but I already cut off the stock air box on my 650 without know about the tuning issues that I would encounter later.  I'm almost to the point where I am ready to mount my carbs so I might have to check this out further.

Tintop,
I received mine I just forgot to let ya know. We are working on CNCing some adapter plates and velocity stacks to mount to your filter and the 600RR throttle bodies. It should work out well on the 650. thanks for your help.

I was drunk when I sent that and I don't think I stated the color or year.  I'll get back to ya. :)

It's been a while since I posted.

I'm going to be placing the next filter order Sunday evening.  It will be a much smaller quantity than the first, as I think the initial demand is filled.  This order, and future ones will be what I have orders for, plus a couple of extras in each size.

I'm hoping to have these in by Christmas, and the next bunch will be in the spring.  So if you have any questions, now is the time to ask, as I don't want to disappoint anyone.

I'm looking at making up some molds for the velocity stacks for other carbs like the CR's and the Mikuni's and whatever else people are running. this was more people can use this kit. i was wondering if anyone has the measurements of the intake (diameter and length) so i can start making some mockups of the velocity stacks.

That would be awesome, i was thinking of buying 5 stacks off tintop and using the spare one to cut strips out of,  to make the stock sized ones fit the Mikuni's..... Would have been doable but no need to if you are going to make us some.... ;D   MRieck has some RS34 Mikuni's and the equipment to measure them...

Sweet! And what is the other common carb or does everyone pretty much run the rs34's?

CR29 Keihins..... ;)   If i can get these stacks for the RS34's i might just make some mods to a stock airbox and see if i can make that work as well..... ;)

that would probably work too. the only problem is that (at least for my bike) from what i can see the tube on the stock air cleaners mount very close to the carbs and on this setup it mounts at the end of the velocity stack

but also i have never had an airbox so i am not positive. i could see about making some stacks that will fit the stock boxes (with modifications) but that would take alot more measurements. good idea though. any chance i can get a show of hands of people who are interested in the kit for RS34's?

You people looking to make knock-offs of TT's design for other carbs might want to see about getting his blessing or something...

not making a knock off. been talking with him about it. mostly want to check and make sure their is enough people who would want them seeing as it will cost roughly $200 just to make the molds for the velocity stacks. dont want to waste my money and time if nobody would be interested.

also it is going to be pretty much exactly the same just sightly larger so people with RS34's can buy his kit

Good.

I've been following, but when it's a bit here and a bit there I have trouble keeping everything straight.
