Got an email back from Andy@ITG.  He said the filter is available from their distributors but that it is unlikely to be on their current price list or catalog since it's just now become available.  I called the folks at Coast Fabrication in Huntington Beach, CA and they're looking into pricing for me.  Will post once I find out.

I contact Raffi @ EurosportAcc in Anaheim, CA. I've dealt a lot with this company and should be able to catch a deal. I linked him to this thread so we'll see how it goes.

I love trying to figure things out after I order parts.  Anyway, I have a 650 head with 750 carbs mounted in a 550 frame.  I think the 750 stacks are too long now that I have them mocked up.  Would the 550 stacks mount to the 750 carbs and is the 550 element smaller than the 750?  I'm going to reread this entire thread but seeing as I'm going on 5 hours of sleep every night this week, my attention span is about 5 minutes so figured I'd just ask.

no - 750 throat is bigger / yes - 550 filter is 10mm shorter (45 vs 55)

Here's my gripe: a $225 air filter. Holy crap ITG, that's ridiculous.

/rant.

I'll be ordering one as soon as I trip on a stack of $20 bills or get my tax refund.

That's what I was hinting about several post ago when I found out info on them and posted it. Your getting the original "AntiPod" filter for there new reduced price, minus the custom stacks and clamps. You also are getting a blank base/mounting plate that you have to drill. Better do it right the first time, cause it will be very expensive trying to get a replacement.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've been going through the thread and am I to understand that this Anti-pod is not happening now?

Correct, however you can still get the individual pieces that make it up.  See post 899 / pg 36 for information

Just picked up my filter at the post office! I went through Gary at Coast Fabrication in CA. I also received the stacks a little while ago too. Now I just have to find someone to drill the holes.  Pretty excited about this set up

You can drill the holes with a hole saw from Home Depot, or similar.  Don't need a expensive one as you only need to do 4 holes.  Let me know which engine / carbs.  Spacing is the same for all, but location is different vetically for the 550.

How much room for play to I have with these stacks? My concern with using a hole saw is that they tend to "walk" a bit when starting the hole. If I use a 1 9/16, which is slightly smaller than the 41mm required, then it might work out.

What do you think Tintop?

You need to use a hole saw that has a centre guide drill, then it won't walk.  It my shake a bit, but not enough to make the hole too big.  didn't have a chance to find my notes today, will do it in the morning.  Usually one side is nicer than the other, make that the inside and put your layout marks there.  Use a thin felt tip as it will easily be removed.

Find the horizontal centre line, and the centre point.  Make a new line 5mm above, and parallel (on the 550 it needs to sit slightly lower for frame rail clearence).  I'll check this tomorrow but memory says....spacing is 70mm between 1 & 2 / 80mm between 2 & 3 / 70mm between 3 & 4.  From the centre of the new line mark 40mm to each side, make a mark, and from there 70mm each way and another mark(s).  These are your centre drill points for the holes.

Do you think a 1 5/8" hole saw will be ok? This is slightly larger than 41mm

If you have calipers measure the dia. of the seal gap.  I'll check tomorrow.

So I checked the diameter of the seal gap and its 44mm, which is for the 750 as it says in your post 898.. I havent checked to see if the boots fit the carbs yet but I have a feeling there not going to. Would this feeling be right?
