I would not pretend to know much about Honda carbs but if I were a carburator-guessing kind of monkey I'd say that its quite possible that no carb changes from stock will be required at all with these things.  I think their main fetching point is that they retain a velocity stack to straighten out the airflow before it reaches the actual carb, something lost in a Pod-bike.  They may flow better overall, which may or may not necessitate a slightly larger main jet and possibly a small needle height adjustment (1 notch?) and at worst topping it all off with a little bit more fuel added with the adjustment screw (in for early carbs, out for late).  That regimen would add just a little fuel more or less evenly throughout the RPM/throtle-opening range.

Just my suspicions, but I don't think they are too far off.

PS: I'd have been happy to pay the full amount this morning, and if it will help with placing the first order for component parts I'd be happy to pay the remaining ballance due in full, I'm not worried about you skipping the country with all the loot.   ;D

Easiest & least expensive way to the US is post.  You can use this postal code as the ship from - L7E 1C2

If I'm not mistaken that's why we have NAFTA (North American Free Trade Agreement - with emphasis on the "Free" part), there shouldn't be any import duty at all.  Just one big happy family in the greater international sense; well and as it should be.  When sending things out of the US the sender simply fills out the green slip at the Post Office, about the same information as you'd fill out for Registered Mail; what's in the package, where's it going, how much is it worth, new or used I think may be on there too, don't remember exactly.  I suspect it isn't much harder to send things south.

+1 on the extra 'brokerage fee'.  I planned on using Post as much as possible, just for that reason.  Going to check into the USA duty situation.  Should be duty free, as it is assembled in Canada, and uses US made parts (stacks).  Generally I have found that Post is 6-10 days either way across the border.

For whatever its worth the set of shocks you sold me took 3 days, from date of posting, to arrive at my door.  I presume the air cleaner will be about the same size, probably a lot lighter package, and would have similar markings.  As for distance, I am about 80 or 90 miles south of Pittsburgh, PA.  There was no indication that the package had been inspected in any way, all wrapping was intact.  As you may recall this was somewhat recently, but before the holiday rush.

I buy a fair bit of stuff from the states and use USPS as much as possible.  Stuff almost always comes within a week, BUT it's worth remembering that there is no guarantee at all on delivery time and if you call up customs to ask how long your package will be stuck at the border they'll tell you to go pound sand.

Maybe 1 time out of 15 something gets stuck for 2 weeks or more.  Not often.  Order your bike parts over the winter when it's usually less time-critical. :)

I've never had anything take longer than 10 days coming up here.  Even the stacks, when I account for the security hold, & holiday closings, took 6 days.  Post is by far the least expensive.  That said, I will certainly ship by whatever other means is requested.

I figured I woud verify since I ordered some swaybars for my 240 a couple years ago from a company in hockey land and got a nice little brokerage bill outside the company (UPS I think) quoted shipping fee. I wasnt so much pissed about the cost but lack of knowledge of getting hit with the cost.

Are they more expensive than FedEx?  I never paid close enough attention to notice a difference.  It hurts to get dinged $40 for a $10 item, which might have distracted my otherwise strong analytical skills.  ;)

UPS is $40.  Kind of kills a good deal when a $10 part gets another $15 for shipping, then gets hit with $40. ::)

Hot and humid here, and I feel like #$%* as I've got a bloody cold! It could be much worse though, I live in Melbourne but I'm watching the news from Brisbane where massive flooding has just devastated the city, very sad watching the images of the terrible destructive force that has forced thousands of people out of their homes and tragically, has taken several lives, with many people still missing. I'm glad to have received a message from Mick (Retro Rocket) that he's OK, and he thinks that Dave (Dave500) is OK as well.

Anyway, I'm trying to get my K1 back together after painting the frame, but I hope to have it close to finished today, as Brian (Tin Top's) anti-pod kit has arrived for testing, woohoo! ;D 
I was feeling sorry for myself because I couldn't afford new bike boots, until I met a man with no legs.

Very good news that Mick, and it sounds like Dave, are both OK.  From the news over here, the flooding sounds like it has caused a lot of damage, and as you said, taken some lives.

I had planned on placing the order with ITG by now.  However, as Terry just rec'd the test unit, I will wait until early next week, for those holding off, awaiting tests.  It is about a month from when I contact ITG, to when I will have them ready to ship out. 

To speed things along, I could limit this 1st quantity to a total of 15 (10 already accounted for).  Both use the same frame and back plate (different holes); and confirm the ratio of filters (heights required) later.

Have you had any word on jetting recommendations?
One other thing: what about anodizing the aluminum parts? I guess you would have to have enough in each color to justify an anodizing run.
