Also owned one of these:

Had the 4.2 mill with dual headers from JC Whitney and a three duece intake set up, also from JC Whitney, air shocks with an onboard compressor, three speed tranny with a Hurst shift, L60s, and shorty traction bars. Had it repainted in acrylic black laquer with metal flake bronze stripes, custom made leather and walnut dash board. It was too cool fer school and sounded like a gigantic bumble bee...really pissed off! 8)

Never got laid in it though :'(

My dad was an AMC fan, my first car was a 64 Rambler American 440. Had a 66 Classic 660 wagon for a while and a 69 Ambassador...loved those cars.  last summer at my sister's place in Winters there was a custom car show and these were there...

My 2nd car was a Gremlin.
Almost killed me with the lack of rear wheel traction in the snow. :-\

But I always thought the AMX would stay on the market longer.
Once it became the Javlin/AMX it was doomed to failure.

Had a Matador a for a short time back in '98, wish I still had it.
Mine was blue but it was just like this one.
