high country fishing opening

here we go again, 1 day to go, and the weather will be testing for sure. stay tuned for stories of the big one that got away, or how I cried like a little girl when my tent got frozen.  ;D

yeah but it's spring time over there. It's fall over here and only the rivers are open for steelhead and salmon. Maybe a couple lakes open all year but usually fished out nothing to write home about. High country lakes are freezing up fast.

A few showers at first. Rain spreading from the south from late morning and snow lowering to 600 metres in the afternoon. Rain easing to showers in the evening.

well, the snow arrived, followed by a torrential downpour. stayed cold as hell for all saturday and froze over night. sunday the sun finally showed itself, just in time for us to leave. got to love the mountains. fishing was hard with only 4 fish landed between us 3. ate the best one and returned the others for another day.
