Cb500 Steering Stem Spacer?
« on: November 09, 2010, 06:53:39 PM »
In the middle of changing my steering stem bearings to the tapered style.

The bearings come with 2 spacers in case they are needed. Just wondering if any of you changed your bearings and had to use the provided spacers. I heard it was a little tricky to measure so any heads up would be great. Thanks alot

I am thinking you could hold up lower bearing with a flat disc covering the hole in the lower bearing. Then install the top, and measure thru both bearings with a tape or rule to get a basic measurement of the bearing stack..

Then compare this to the stem..

I will give that a try. It just seems like comparing apples to oranges because of the difference in bearing styles. Got both races knocked out and the bearings off the stem. I just want to thank Honda for putting that fat lip on those races.

Now with the dust seals. Face up or down for top and bottom?
