Topic: Bread box filter

Sorry to all, put this post in tips and tricks and then accidentally moved it to fax and couldnt move it or delete from there.

Anyway looking for bread box style air filter for 78 cb750k. Jammer cycle products used to make these. I want to modify a set to use v-stacks. Anybody else do this mod? Basically same as a dellorta carb set up.

Is this the brand of filter that you describe ? Not sure what a v-stack is though. This filter looks like it uses the stock long airbox venturi tube or stack which should be a good thing,probably better than a pod

ekpent that is what I am looking for, the filter box was made by henry abe (new info) most likely. V-stack meaning volocity stack used mainly in racing with no air filter at all. The rubber inserts are a factory v-stack. Aftermarket is made bell shaped and different length and tapper make them tunable to straighten air going into carb. Is that one for sale? Or do you know who has one for sale?

That is the same as the unit I have sitting on a shelf.  I have only seen it used on 750's.  The problem it has is when using the stock stacks, they almost touch the other side, very bad for breathing.  On the one I have the stacks were cut down, so no bell mouth now.  Also not good, but better.  If you really want one, I would consider selling mine.

Tintop I like what you are designing. I saved the pics ekpent posted. I might try making something myself too. I have a Dellorta superformance teck book and they recomend 34mm space between v-stack and top of air box. they also state because of space and height limitations even a 1/2 inch high stack can help to staighten and direct airflow to some degree. What I was trying to figure out how to use a aluminum stack with a plate like on the bread box filter and a good box style k&n filter or something like that. Trick is how to mount to carbs, brackets etc. And still make a light weight unit . Mabie tig it out of aluminum. I weld little better with steel(more practic needed). Was looking at my original air box to get Ideas, Have pods on now but want somethig better.

Talking with Mike at steel dragon perforemance makes a box with v-stacks built in. Looks good, Might get it if I can swing the cash.
