1970 KO
« on: November 13, 2010, 07:28:12 PM »
I have a 1970 cb750 with the craziest looking serial number on the engine. There are two lines of numbers.
573 64 8742
750 1019861
Does anyone know what these numbers mean?
Is it an after market engine case?
I have never seen serial numbers like them before. Any help is welcome.

Bottom row is the engine number, I believe is correct for an early to mid year 70. Top row looks like a SSN

Maybe it will collect benefits in 25 years!

Zappa, I don't think anyone will be collecting Social Security in the near future.

The stamped numbers look factory.??
Maybe the previous owner got a set of after market cases and had his SS# stamped next to the original serial #?
That makes sense.
