Need to promote my bussiness
« on: November 16, 2010, 03:59:24 PM »
As some of you know my employment situation is pretty sucky right now and funds are way tight.
I'm doing tech support/PC repair from my home as a side bussiness, but not many customers yet.
Anyone have some low cost, to free ideas on how to promote my bussiness?
Right now I'm doing word of mouth, business cards, and craigslist.

I would suggest setting up a website with one of those free web hosting sites, I can't remember the name right now, you can search it and plenty will pop up. Good luck!

If you have a Chamber of Commerce I would consider joining it. You will meet business owners and give you a chance to network an hopefully  drum up some business.

Have you checked out the Small Business Bureau in your area?
If there isn't one, take the time to go to the Unemploymnent Office
and ask around.
Where I live many of the UE office workers are retired businessmen.

good luck

I heard a radio commercial for http://grasshopper.com/ it's a 'virtual phone system' service that can give anyone who calls you the impression that you're a bigger outfit, it can even do things like ring a mobile phone when they call your main number, page out voicemail, and all the big phone system functions.

There's also http://search.constantcontact.com/index.jsp?utm_id=MSN-106605&cc=MSN-106605&cpao=113&cpca=Brand&cpag=Constant+Contact&kw=constant+contact&v=1  So you can create and send newsletters and updates to customers and prospective customers.

Good luck!
