I'm replacing the throttle cables this week. I was wondering what works with what, if you guys have any info that'd be cool. Couldn't find what I wanted to know in the forum search, or googling. I'm running drag bars on this 550 and I've been told 400 cables are well-suited to flat bars since they're shorter. Less slack, more direct cut. I was just curious what works where, since right now all I have is my 550 and a couple garbage 500's, so I can't do the eyeballing myself.

Thanks for your time.

According to the aftrmarket suppliers here in UK the throttle and clutch cables on all the fours are the same but i never tried it. Also bars in UK are always lower than the US models except, possibly, the 400 which may be why they are said to fit better. You could always specify UK model cables from Dave Silver and work that way or just shorten the cables you have using solderless nipples at the engine end
