WOW, I would have never guessed you would need to jet your carbs like that. Seems like it would be way rich. Curious to hear about your plugs.
Agreed.  with 140 and 42 I still could not get any color on them

Can you show any pics of your modified airbox? Where are you getting your main and pilot jets from?

Cool Thanks.
I was just wondering if you had a good online vendor you were using for the jets....

I wil check, and see if ihave the drawing..

Elan, are you missing a zero, or is it really .008. ?
I cant really measure what I took off now, but one side was tighter that the other, and thats not your machinine, but the actual hub varied. I took off a measurable amount and still ended up with a light press fit. The outer dims were perfect. I think .008 total and it would slip on nicely. But he should also measure for himself. I have the drawing still if needed.

I think I would measure my hubs at 4-6 spots marked out geometrically to see if the hub is round and to find out the measurement it needs to be. You want it to not be sloppy/loose as that could lead to imbalance if it allows the rotor to not be centered.  But,  I don't think I would want it to be a press fit. A press fit on the hub means it will not vary on its placement once fit so once the wheel is balanced with it fit it would not change. I would hope the hub is balanced if it is machined, but the probably is not the case, would be something a race bike could benefit from doing prior to wheel assembly.

Elan sorry to dredge up an old post, on the stock calipers...
Additionally the seller may no longer have them... but, do you know or recall the seller ID or Yamaha part number or Yamaha part description of how you found them; if they are not listed by their thread pitch and bolt size and length? Do you recall what is that thread pitch and bolt size?

Thanks!  David

That's a fast looking water heater!

Those caliper bolts are hard to find! I was hoping to get them in stainless(I'm trying to replace any bolts with stainless) but this thread spacing/size combo is obsolete it seems! I found these black ones for a couple bucks on eBay. Theres more on there if anyone is looking! Said yamahja on the packaging

no problem. I found my old ebay email ( i never throw out an email for this purpose!)  ;D

they were M10 x 40 x 1.25

Seller is: mecanik2000

Just a warning though, the black finish rusted very fast, I ended up painting the heads. I would paint the heads immediately, and use some antisieze.

Elan, thank you!  The finish sounds like the flat black appearing black oxide finish. If so, they have to stay well oiled to keep rust at bay and that attracts dirty which retains moisture. You don't want oil near your pads. Also, given the aluminum of the caliper you don't want water trapped in the threads so if you don't need to use blue 242 thread compound.

Maybe the dealer might have them new and I can find a dealer like South Sound Honda up near Olympia to give me a great price, relatively speaking...
Thanks again,
David
