CB400f - Dyna Coils - modification
« on: November 17, 2010, 10:51:42 AM »
I bought myself a set of Dyna Coils (DC8-1) for my CB400f.  I've read on the board that the installation will require a "light modification".

Can someone who's done this swap elaborate?  My workshop at home is limited and I want to get a better idea of what mod is involved so I know if I should tackle this at a friends house instead of mine.

Thanks.

Super easy.  Basically, you use the stock mounting brackets, but the mounting posts on the coils are just a tad too long.  All you have to do is get a hack saw or angle grinder and grind part of the bracket flat so it doesn't interfere with the mounting posts on the coils.  Just install the brackets without the coils and lay the new coils on top of the bracket and you'll see where you need to cut.
