Topic: Researching Hammered Fenders (not paint)

Am seriously considering hammering my front and rear fenders on my CB750K3 for this look as I slowly continue the Cafe conversion I have planned.



Does anyone have experiencing trying to achieve this look??? I assume the hammered look on these fenders is done by a press of some sort. Anyway one could just take out a 28oz Stanley Ball Pean hammer, mark it off and have at it? Anyone tried it before?

Does it make any difference that the above fenders are aluminum and the CB's fenders are chrome plated steel? If I wack at them, do I stand the chance of flaking the chrome? Anyone stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night?

I was just on that site the other day looking at fenders for my wifes vintage bicycle and thinking the same thing.

I seriously doubt that you could achieve that by hand with a hammer (at lead I couldn't).

Not exactly there but same fenders. I think it's a great look and would work well with my plans. I thinking though I'm going to need aluminum to be able to shape it. That or a lot of heat! W00t! to cyclist turned motorcyclists!

 They appear to be done on rolls.


 If you did it after the fact to a finished fender the radius would probably change, quite a bit..
