How do these Power Coating prices compare with your area?
« on: November 17, 2010, 07:01:46 AM »
I contacted the only Power Coater within miles of here yesterday and got some ballpark prices on motorcycle parts.  I was wondering how these prices compare with those in other parts of the country.  Here is what I got.

Motorcycle frame, $150~$200

Wheels, $125~150 (not clear if this was each or per pair)

Fork Tubes, $75~$90 per pair.

Doesn't seem too far off...  I paid about $300 for a frame and about 20 odd pieces (battery tray, brake levers, headlight ears, etc.).  Try to get a volume deal by doing everything (and I mean everything) at once.  Helps make sure the color is consistent and they will usually cut you a deal.

I just paid $45 to have a rim blasted ($20) and PC'd ($25), and it turned out great.  I'd echo goaarongo's input and negotiate a better rate.  Sounds high compared to Denver pricing.

In the Boise/Meridian Idaho area, frame, lower triple tree, swing arm, chain guard and misc.small pieces all together 13 parts with blasting = $270.00.
Still need more. Shop did fantastic job.

all depends on what color you go with i had my frame and swingarm coated gold and it cost me $300 with them doing all prep work.. if you do a regular plain base color its alot cheaper. mine was also two coats of clear on top as well. tons of powder coaters out there but that price doesnt seem to bad..
