Running light issue on '76 550k
« on: November 18, 2010, 07:33:33 AM »
I had to disassemble my bucket wiring to put on drag bars, and after reassembly, everything is working a-ok except the runnig lights on the rear turn signals.

The flasher function on those same lights works fine. And the running light/flashers work fine on the front lights as well.

I opened it back up and checked it, and everything seems plugged into the right connections based on my notes.

Any thoughts?

The only running light on the rear is the tail light.

Thanks guys. I could have sworn that the rear were lit up always, but I could be wrong. Little strange that the front flashers would be always on and not the rear???  Is this normal with your bikes?

This is normal for all vehicles in the U.S. and probably most other countries.  Running lights on the front are yellow and red on the rear.  If yours were previously wired to be running lights then it was done by a PO and the bulbs were changed from the stock single element to dual element.

If I recall correctly, you and I are lined up on a bunch of stuff.  My next big thing is to deal withe the timing.  Ran out of room.  Need to try the TT method of gaining some adjustment back by shimming the plate near the three screw posts...
