Anyone had their "junk" groped by TSA yet?
« on: November 20, 2010, 10:52:37 PM »
I last flew a few weeks ago just before the groping stated.  Enough is enough.  How much more will we put up with?  The terrorists have won and turned our security apparatus into crotch gropers. ;D

Haven't been groped yet..but have been thinking that I'll get a great big sausage..stuff it in my pants..and let them grope @ that a bit.

Also might be interesting to put a whoopee cushion in my shorts..let them squeeze down on that some.  Be interesting to see what they do..if the think you're passing a big stinky one..as their feeling around.

I stopped flying 10 years ago due to security. I just drive it or I don't go.

Taking Flight - True Or Not - A Good Story & A Great Idea ...

The Israelis are developing an airport security device that eliminates the privacy concerns that come with full-body scanners at the airports.

It’s an armored booth you step into that will not X-ray you, but will detonate any explosive device you may have on your person. They see this as a win-win situation for everyone, with none of this crap about racial profiling. It also would eliminate the costs of a long and expensive trial.  Justice would be swift. Case closed!

You're in the airport terminal and you hear a muffled explosion. Shortly thereafter an announcement comes over the PA system . . . "Attention standby passengers — we now have a seat available on flight number 6709. Shalom!"

The Israelis do it properly, they perform behavioral profiling.

This will sound harsh, but based on my encounters with your typical TSA employee, they would struggle to spell behavioral.

Airports are not bound by law to have the TSA present, they have the option to opt out and hire their own security services perform the same function.  Sadly the TSA has become part of a "transfer of wealth" agenda.  Profiling may not be fair, but it sure is effective. If anyone's travelled abroad in the past 30 years they'll know just what I mean. Sadly in countries that do profile, their security checks are usually less invasive for those who fit the profile than the TSA pat-down is for everyone.

Sadly the TSA has become part of a "transfer of wealth" agenda.

What? That just kind of flew by. And, yes, the airports can get private companies to do the screening BUT they would be subject to the same criteria as the TSA is currently - meaning they may choose whatever method they see fit to satisfy the groping guidelines.

Me personally, if I fly, have determined that I will ask for a pat down and whether I can choose my agent who I'll demand looks like John Schneider. If they don't know who John Schneider is I'll produce a laminated pic and then go on and on about how that's a good looking man and he could touch my junk without a government mandate. Proceed to making satisfied noises while being "searched" and... mission accomplished. Everyone had a good time.

I think you'll probably be receiving your TSA grope by the dude who's waistline is larger than his height and has severe halitosis.

Have any of you ever flown through Schipol in Amsterdam? Security is at each gate, so instead of waiting through long lines leading to every terminal, you simply find your gate and go through security there, leading to a lobby where you wait/board. besides the normal scanners (x-ray for bags and the little blower/sniffer thing you stand in), they interview each passenger asking where you stayed, who you know there, etc. THIS is proper profiling, not pulling people aside because they're brown or whatever. They're trained to recognize nervous reactions or trip-ups.

Anyway, it didn't surprise me that their security measures were so farther sophisticated than we have back here it home (profilers probably don't have their own congressional lobby, unlike scanner manufacturers...), but you'd think with all of the security hysteria in the US someone would get a clue.

No it is not harsh/ I took their test, it is two part. Part one is looking at images identifying suspicious objects mixed in with other objects. That part you can understand.

Part two is series if questions. The questions revolve around your belief that people are dishonest or dangerous. If you have any belief that people tell the truth, you are disqualified. I am very glad they are not armed.

Last time I flew was on Sept 11th. Not really by design but rather because I really only travelled for work and once that happened they changed their travel policy and now that have cut back so far I am surprised we're not expected to Hitch Hike!!

It was just a short flight from Toronto to Ottawa and we landed a couple of hours before everything started but since I couldn't fly home we had to run around and try to secure tix for the train.

That whole day was very surreal since we were almost in a communication void on the train...sorry, I shouldn't probably really have brought up the actual day.

The former head of Homeland Security Micheal Chertoff's security consulting company is employed by one of the two companies that won contracts to supply the scanning equipment.
I think the threat is exaggerated by the very same people who stand to profit from it by keeping the public frightened and on edge.  Just check into how many former government officials run or are employed by "security consulting firms".

Opt on this week if you have to travel and then while they are groping your ass blow a nice loud fart in their face. ;D

I would rather go through a body search than have them need to search FOR my body.
Besides, I made such a good imporession on the security guard she slipped a dollar into my belt. 8)

Thanks for letting that other catch phrase slip by, I'll not go there again.

When it's all said and done I'll fly when needed, I'll go through whatever's there to get on with my trip.  People talk about the TSA in many different ways, but it all comes down to just a few things. Are we safer? maybe and maybe not but any measures that are in place are better than doing nothing.

More Americans working is a good thing, the TSA employs a lotta people. Long term unemployment really sucks, if you haven't been touched by it yet you're luckier than lots of us. So whether or not my tax dollars are going to qualified TSA employees or not, people staying employed is a huge step in the big picture and I can get behind the idea.

Generally it's just like so many other things in recent history in many countries, an attempt to create the illusion of safety facilitated by the illusion of the loss of freedom.

More safety? Maybe... Less freedom, maybe.  Like so many other things in life, it's only a problem if you let it bother you.

True, I would rather have jobs created that generate something. We have a lot of skilled hands out there idle that could be making goods and creating wealth.

That's exactly the kind of attitude required of the general population to become a fascist society.  It doesn't happen overnight.  It's small steps that people get used to.
