I haven't read through all of it yet, but IS a cool read. specially if you are interested in the CBX. My own '80 CBX might not be perfect, but it is definitely in fine shape. His comments on the differences of the '79 & the'80 are interesting. Basically, in my opinion, the '79 was "Thrown Out There" without being refined! To ME, the biggest thing I would change about mine ins, I'd like to have a set of gauges from a '79, as the ones one later CBXs were restrained, to say the least. IF you were to cut loose with the '80, you'd run the risk of bending the needles on the tach & speedo (those cost at least $400-500 on repairing YOUR units. I agree with him, the look, the Feel, the sound & the way it handles, is Incredible! Just MY 2 cents on the subject. And, I was Fortunate to be in the right place at the right time, to get mine. The ONLY drawback concerning MINE, was that my Buddy (who had bought this bike, gone through it and made it what it is today) has some medical problems messing with him and he had to sell it. But, on the good side of this, he didn't want it to go to just anybody. He wanted someone who would appreciate the bike, appreciate the work he put into it and take care of it properly. So, with that being said, I have the CBX that I adored AND HE has the assurance, that I will take cars of it, like he would.
