Tokico model numbers for CB750K
« on: December 17, 2012, 05:00:56 PM »
Does anyone know which Tokico caliper models correspond to the year model CB750K?  I am trying to buy 2 matching calipers.  Some ebayers use a year range, others say what model (Tokico 3 or 6).

I'm trying to make heads or tails of the codes.

The following comes from my own observations ...

The 750 K Tokico brake caliper numbers 1 thru 6 are what I call casting numbers. They do not officially correspond to part numbers or a specific model year that I can reference. I suspect that the higher the casting number is, the newer the caliper will be. (this is a similar scenario to the 750 K camshaft “R” casting numbers) Anyhow, Honda used three different part numbers for the 750 K front brake caliper.

45100-300-023    KO – silver caliper
45100-300-023B  K1 – black caliper
45100-341-003    K2 to K6 and now supersedes the earlier caliper part numbers. All internal part numbers remain the same, such as the piston, seal, and pads.

Casting numbers can be matched up if desired, but it’s not a deal breaker as to proper fit and function if they don’t match exactly.

Notice the difference in the casting quality of the word “TOKICO” when comparing the following examples:

Dream750,

Thanks for the response.  I noticed some variation in the mounting bracket sizes between different casting numbers (I was sorting through some used parts a guy was offering to sell), so they appear to have some subtle size variation.  Some calipers did not mount flush with other mount brackets (either slightly above or below the top of the caliper).  I'm having to bite the ebay bullet and get some calipers.  I'm hoping they will match close enough to do a dual disc set up without looking cobbled together.

Be careful of. Bolt pattern/ piston sizes on the smooth ones.

I think they are forged, not cast.
