CB550 engine is just a CB500 Four with a bigger bore to correct the lack of power that most owners were complaining. The reason why 77-78 CB550K exhausts were not being made now is because they were less popular than the original style mufflers but they are usually cheaper to buy if you can find them. I saw a couple of 1971-1976 CB500 and CB550 Fours fitted with 77-78 type exhausts so I guess they can fit too.
