What kind of bike is this?
« on: March 15, 2006, 06:20:19 PM »
Is this a cb750 or a KZ650 or what? The site is in Japanese so I don't know. Also what size are the wheels you think? The front seems bigger. And what mods do you think were done to this besides the obvious of paint, wheels & tank...

Hard to tell from the pic, but that sure looks like a Kawaski KZ engine to me.

Yeah. It's a later "J" engine.

Definatley a Kawi. I would say the biggest mod to the bike (other than seat and tank and paint) is that it has been nicely lowered a good, I'd think. 3 inches.

As for the tire size, the pics are too small to tell, really (at least to my eye). They don't look too far off from stock, though. The front is definately a little wider and shorter than stock, but the rear looks just a bit wider than it should be. (I am comparing this to my Buddy's KZ 550)

I would guess the front is atleast a 19'' , if not a 21'' with a FAT tire.
I am guessing that it is from the guys over at Brat Style in Japan ?
Oh how I wish they were here in the states.... :(

Thanx guys. Yo Proteal, that was my icon for awhile as I was using that as inspiration for my custom build. That is a nice bike. I actually met Yoshi at Garage Company (in Santa Monica, CA) who built that and many other cool bikes. Nice guy. And he has some sick ass Jap creations he is or was working on. Since he is from Japan, his bikes are like the ones that we like from those Japanese builders like Bratstyle, Zero Engineering, Crazy Orange, Yello MC, etc. The photo I posted is from a Japaese website incidentally. I love the style of the Japanese. If you can find a Japanese bookstore which sells magazines too, you HAVE TO check out "Street Bikers", "Hardcore CHopper" & "Custom Burning". You will cream your panties! If you can't find them in a local store, then you can order them from online but the shipping is insane!

Those tires are those Firestone knockoffs. Are the rims wider than stock or is it juts a fat tire which makes it wider. It looks like 500-16 on rear & 400-19 on front. I want to achieve that "look".

My next question may be more difficult to answer:

Both tires look wide but the one on the back seems to have a higher profile than the front which has a low profile. Basically I would like to achieve the same look. Wide tires for front & back but when I put both wheels side by side, The total diameter of the wheels with tires on will be equal. Does this make sense?

Do I need a 500-16 on back & 400-19 on front or what combo looks like what is pictured. If I could see these tires on rims side by side then I could do it myself but there is no store where I can see them before I buy them. Thanx.
