73 CB500 with Hack :D
« on: November 28, 2010, 11:54:57 AM »
This is my first project bike. I'm very excited to work on a bike and learn as I go. This website and all the members are very help. Right now what I have done so far is replace the Oil Pressure Switch, changed the rear shocks and currently working on the rear wheel. Today I am going to remount the sidecar and enjoy riding it before I tear it down and send it out for paint.

Current issues so far before send it out is:
-Turn signals not working
-Exhaust leak on the furtherest pipe to the right
-Bike won't keep charge on the battery
-Front brake switch not working
-Replacing the front brake pads
-New chain soon

Those are all the issues I know so far. Here are the pics of it in it's current state

Thanks for looking guys!

Helluva rig!  I've always wanted a hack rig but just haven't committed to buying one. Who's gonna be the monkey?

My fiance. This is gonna be a learner rig. I plan to get a bike with a larger engine and ride up to Alaska. But that'll be a while before I can get that.

Way cool!  I like the looks better than a Ural. Speaking of your trip to Alaska, have you ever checked out Hubert's travels at thetimelessride.com?

@theofam Thanks for the link!

Yea currently I am in search for someone to fabricate a subframe for the bike to make sure the sidecar is mounted safely.

Hubert does a great job documenting his travels. You'll lose a week reading if you're not careful!
