Well Leslie Nielsen died today. Yes he starred in dumb flicks but that was part of his appeal. ;D
I liked watching his movies and I think he will be missed. :'(

One of my favorites.     He did have a couple "straight " roles.

Actually he was a straight actor always playing the head of something or other. What made him so funny in Airplane was here was this straight looking actor being so funny. Fantastic talent.

Keith Olberman just did THE BEST tribute to Leslie Nielsen.  7 or 8 minutes, including 3 or 4 interview clips where he manipulated a whoopee cushion.  Apparently, he liked to fart on command.





But who wouldn't.  Where can I get a whoopee cushion?

Don't know how to post a you tube link but one of his funniest moments is the umpire skit.  What Bobby R said about him being a straight actor first is what made Airplane extra funny-to see straight actors in comedic roles was pretty much a first for comedy.  Larry
