74 750 carb ?
« on: April 28, 2005, 09:53:23 PM »
Ok. "What the HECK?"  >:( I said to myself, after haveing a 1974 sitting unused for 4 years, I decide I am taking it to Loudon,NH races next month. Everything eventually is ok except the carborators: when I bought it the thing hadn't run in years. Slept in a barn, and of coarse the seller lied through his teeth about the condition, anyways, the fuel petcock has 2 outlets for fuel, the carborators have 2 inlets for fuel, AND 2 inlets for vacumn on the 2 center carbs. WHERE do these hook up? The OEM airbox has nothing for them (just like my 1975 cb750, which is running and for sale by the way). Could it be the seller put carbs from a different bike on it? Neither my Clymer nor Chilton manuals show where these go, BUT the Chilton does mention them. Help! michel@vtcycle.com

Please read the "Before you post" next time ;-). This question have been answered a thousand times. Those hoses go nowhere, they simple hang over the airbox. Its only purpose is to let the air inside the carburetors. Otherwhise gas would never go in.

Yes, I know. I tried the search. But didn't find the answer, so thanks. :) I am putting the monster on the road today. Time for burnouts in the driveway (I need an excuse for a new tire).
