Anybody heard of these guys before?  $1500 plus $250 shipping isn't cheap. Picture looks like they're a pair of 2-into-2's.

Yeah, well, at that price I would just go with the OEM Honda pipes still available at your local dealer for basically the same $.

Hey Richard, I recall you mentioned you would like to have the original pipes. They are available again; ask for them to your Honda dealer.
After 30 years of faithful service, your bike deserves a new set of pipes.

TONS of rare sandcast parts and reproduction items as well.  Short chainguards, smooth oil filter covers, painted wrinkle tanks, painted sidecovers, recessed ignitions, righthand switchgear with the black kill switch, repop seats, etc.

YMMV, I guess, depending on what your level of pain tolerance is.  You want insane prices?  Try buying parts
for personal aircraft.

When Mr. Honda himself was in charge, he had a policy to stocking all the NOS parts for at least 10 years but after he retired, Honda decided to dump the NOS parts, which caused some people to buy all the available parts and resell to the customers at infrated prices. Good to have the new 1969-1976 CB750K and 1971976 CB500/550K back in Honda stock again. I hope they make it in China so it'll be affordable to regular folks. I know that new pipes for the Yamaha RD350 are still made in India.

Oh, those 2 by 2 pipes are naturally not stock and the price of $1500 plus shipping is outragious. I bought a similar unit for my 1971 CB750K1 Police model that's almost new for $20 locally. I see too many non-stock items for sale at too high prices.

I'm not a 750 guru, 400's are my cup of tea but I thought the prices were pretty alright and those pipes look like the 4-4's to me.

Actually it was President Clinton. I bought the pipes in 1993.
The bikes in the signature are the ones I currently own. I actually ran out of space to list them all, which is about 40. Most are totally stock and complete but some needs a new paint job. It does seem like I spend more time than wrenching but my favorite time is when I crank up about a dozen of them at the same time to keep the engines flesh when I'm not riding them. I actually name each bikes after girls I know so I can keep track. I don't have current photos to transfer but I'm working on it. When I was a kid during the 1970s, my dream was to have my own motorcycle shop but I end up joining the military and spent my free time buying cheap bikes with my limited funds. Now I have a private bike shop of my own with a big lot (for Las Vegas real state) so I can ride my dirt bikes. But when my friend saw my motorcycle showroom, he commented that I have "no room for wife!".

I wish.  Actually, just for a plain old lycoming O320 sitting on the front of my '69 cherokee.
The fuel selector valve price is what my tie-down neighbor was quoted for his beechcraft sundowner.
Since i wrench on planes part-time, the cost of the cable is what came out of the cessna price book
for an '82 C172.

My dad had to replace some nuts and bolts on his airplane.  The nuts were not your garden-variety zinc-plated hardware store crap.  They were nice aluminum pieces that were so expertly machined so as to be quite nearly flawless.  They were lighter than a feather as well.

Of course a hardware store nut costs 12 cents while these aviation nuts cost more than ten bucks a pop!

Any nuts falling off an airplane in flight is not good news. So $10 per is pretty cheap if they stay fastened.  Do they make aircraft grade Loctite?

I hear you on the aircraft parts... ever thought about going the homebuilt route? I'm a former Pitts S-1S owner, sold it a year ago. Parts get a lot cheaper when they don't have those three letters on them... STC or PMA. Although, I was quite shocked at the bill for 8 new plugs... $260...ouch! Glad to see some other pilots here. I mostly just fly my buddy's '54 C-170B right now- and occasionally get a chance to fly a Champ.

If these pipes are an EXACT replica of the originals,then they will be different to those you can buy today from your local Honda parts places....

No stamping,no brake pedal indentation,so I spose for a 100 per cent resto job,these represent the only known way to get the right /correct pipes for the really early bikes...

Many cant/wont pay those prices...I couldnt...but I bet someone will buy em if they are looking for perfection...

Please,if any SOHC member does get a set,please can they post details/info on our boards

Just think,if you have an otherwise perfect early bike,and need NOS pipes,the price difference isnt really that huge..is it..?

The sandcast I just got has "no number" pipes which are probably the original
ones....quite rare.  That would be great except all have several holes...some
quite large.

I think a set of HM 341's will do just fine and even they are not cheap.  Nothing
makes a bike look great though then having a good looking set of pipes and a
good paint job.

A friend and I owned a Cessna 310 together.  We had to overhaul both engines
eventually and remember them being 30 grand apiece or so.  He is now chief pilot
and maintenance coordinator on a King Air.  He told me last week that the annual
was 44 thousand and all they replaced were the tires...all the rest was labor.

My sandcast and 70 both have no number original pipes. I don't know when the HM300 started being stamped but my 4000 mile original 70 around #30,000  has unmarkeds. The rumour and only rumour is that these new unmarkeds are the same as the 300s available but backdoored before they are stamped and indented then chromed. These have supposedly been available to those in the know from Japan for a while.  This is only hearsay. Consider you buy a sandcast project for $5000.00 and can sell it for $15000.00 if perfect. $1600.00 for pipes is expensive but try finding original unmarkeds. As collectors demand factory year correct restorations these rare parts will be more available. I restore old Indian motorcycles and it is much easier to find year correct repro parts today than it was a few years ago. As prices go up on the bikes the financial incentive for making repro parts becomes more viable. Obviously this only concerns anal retentiv value oriented collectors like myself. I beleive under $1000.00 750s as riders will be available for many years. An entire running 73 for $1000.00 or a 69 Ducktail seat $1300.00. Can someone wipe jerkoff from my forehead? Eli
