Differences in 69-76 & 77/78 oil tanks...
« on: March 16, 2006, 07:46:38 AM »
....sup all..am I correct with this info?

>69-76 oil tank-4 tubes, feed/return/vent/overflow
>77/78 oil tank-3 tubs, feed/return/overflow (which also acts as vent?)

assuming the above is correct, am also correct in that the overflow tube for the 77/78 tank feeds into the back of the case?

...the real question for the house is on the 69-76 oil tank, which tube feeds in to the engine case, the vent or the overflow???

...so many question...so little time...   ::)

not sure if this is totally correct, but on my 72 I have it set up with the tank top overflow/vent tube going to the ground, and the smaller diameter bottom hose connected to the back of the crankcases. All is working fine, so assume it is ok. Hope this helps lumbee.
