Steering bearing questions
« on: November 26, 2010, 11:43:52 AM »
I didn't think to test out my steering bearings before putting the forks back on. They tend to want to lock when pointed straight forward. Now I've got to change them out. I looked up the All Balls but they only show K1-K5. Is there any difference in the K5 and the K6?
These are listed K5-K6 here.

Anybody tried the steering bearings from Z1? I'm not sure what brand they are but they claim to fit the K6. http://www.z1enterprises.com/detail.aspx?ID=1503

I don't know of any changes to the K6........All balls seem to have the best shims - washer spacers - for fit. A really great upgrade.

I ordered mine from Z1 & they were the AllBAllz. I think the pic on thier site is just out of the pack?
If you're worried about how many calories are in beer, is losing weight really your biggest problem?

I used z1 as well, part number started with an AB so I assume they were all balls I got. They went in easy and feel so much better than stock!

I bought All Balls head bearings a couple of years ago for my 550 but I don't remember who I got them through. I installed them and found that the spacing wasn't even close, after tinkering with it for a little bit I found that if I left the lower race in and installed the new one over it then the spacing was right on. I haven't had any problems and they work great.
