"No brake makes you look like a dumbass" Hahahaha! I love the honesty here!

Brothers I am sure that even a smaller disc would be fine for how I will be riding, I can not decide on the look that I want. I am going to paint the center of the one rotor today and see what it looks like, I have a really nice six piston caliper, stainless braided line, and a resevoir with a billet cap, I may as well use them if I have them I guess. I will post a photo this afternoon.

I did not have very much time to work on the bike today but I did paint part of the rotor. I am going to engrave shields that go with the helmets on the engine into the fork lowers and then paint them burnt copper so I thought it would look better if I polished the center of the rotors and then accented them with the burnt copper as well.

Here is the before photo.

I taped it for paint.

Here is the after photo with the burnt copper accent but I still need to polish the center.

if you were in this country joe , i could probably get you one .

i used a turbo off  2 litre diesel renault engine ,a t25, on my 500honda engine , and its fine ,so if you can find anything off a 1500 to 2 litre diesel  itd work ,should be able to get one for 10 to 20 dollars ?

you save a lot of money on not needing a silencer too! lol.
just do it .

Brother ivanhoew I am not planning on a turbo for this engine, as cool as it would be I really want to keep this bike as clean as possible and with the carburetors out front it would require a lot of tubing.

I was very busy in the shop this week so I did not have any extra time to work on the bike but I did get some more framework done last night and today.

Most of you have seen this photo where I converted the frame from a double downtube to a single into double downtubes to make room for the carburetors out front.

Here are the photos from today!

Thank you Brother!

I have tried several swingarms that I have here at the shop and nothing is giving me the custom look that I want so I decided yesterday that I would hand build the rear suspension, it is going to take me a little longer but I think it is the only way that I will be happy with it.

I started building it today!

Are you going to stick to stock length or how much longer will it be?

let me beat everyone to the punch. if you make it longer it will not handle as well....bla bla bla, its not a performance based bike.

Looking great!
Life is precious: wear your f'n helmet!
There's nothing more expensive than a free bike...
FWIW, I'm not a shill for Race Tech - I've just got a thing for good suspension and the RTCE's are the most cost-effective mod for these old damping rod front ends.

All show,  ???... looks pretty rideable to me..

I think some people would be surprised at  how many of what they consider "all show" gets ridden pretty long distances to events in some parts of the world.. and how good they actually can be ridden..

I don't think "all show" was a dig. Some times is better to look marvelous than to be marvelous and other time looks be damned to better perform.

Saw this thread a while back and just got around to reading through it.......my brain hurts.

This site never ceases to amaze me.

Good work Joey - cannot wait until this beast is finished.   It will be a head-turner, brain-puzzler for sure.
Yep, I'm the kid that figured out how to put things back together...eventually.

It was a compliment, this bike isn't going to win any races {with corners Frank}  but thats not what Joe is building it for...   Frank, you ever heard of "corners"....?   ;D

Brothers I can not thank you enough for your continued support of this build!

I decided that as she is starting to look like more of a pro street style bike that she should have a solid hardtail rear frame section. I posted the photos of the section that I built yesterday and today I welded it to the frame and added the rear down tubes as well. I still want to add an underbrace and some other pieces but here is what I got done today!

Did i miss the part where you made the Modern fork fit the 550 neck? How did you adapt it?
