Graduating Soon, Looking for Internships
« on: November 01, 2010, 08:33:11 PM »
This is kind of a shot in the dark, but I figure that people are on this forum from all walks of life and from around the world.

I am graduating in a year from Texas State-San Marcos with a degree in International Relations and I am starting to get the ball rolling on internships. My dream job would be to work for the Foreign Service or another organization that has me abroad. So, I really need to get at least office experience but it would be a major help if I had experience abroad.

I am a first generation student relying on grants and loans, so cannot afford to pay for an internship.

I guess I am hoping someone may be aware of a program geared toward a person like me.  First hand experience in this regard is also greatly appreciated. I have been down to career services a few times, but it is a state school and they do not really have the time to help me look.

I am going to bump this periodically. I will be in Europe for June next year and Vienna for all of July. This might open it up a little to abroad internships.

As I understand it there will be room in the foreign service after Wiki leaks.

+1  ;D There may also be an opening for a security analyst in the U.S. Army.  ;)
