Looking for a seat pin for my 750k8
« on: November 29, 2010, 12:32:16 PM »
Basically the seat pin that mounts the seat to the frame. because one of them was missing when i recieved the bike.  can't find this thing anywhere!  does anyone know if the k6 ones will fit?  they are a different part number, and i'd hate to buy it if it was the wrong item.  any help is appreciated!

thanks!
Dan

Does it have to be perfect? they have some that are close at Lowes or Home depot. If you have one to match it with if not I will measure mine and send you the measurement.

doesnt' have to be perfect at all, just has to be functional. so you think any pin would work? just don't want a lot of side to side movement.

It's a 6mm (1/4") diameter. RR

They call them clevis pins at the home centers but I haven't seen one small enough around here.

You could find a common nail of near the correct diameter, cut it to length and then cross drill a small hole at the end for the clip that holds it in place?

+ 1 on the door hinges.  They are cheap, Cut them, drill a small hole for the clip.

Mine needed a little filing up near the head to make them fit flush

clevis things for the win.  they have multiple holes for different lengths.  found one that fit perfectly.  could not find the little end clips so i had to use cotter pins.  regardless, the seat is on and is staying on!
