Sidecar Mounting to CB500
« on: November 29, 2010, 07:47:16 PM »
I need some advice and some suggestions on mounting a Velorex Sidecar to a 73 Honda CB500. When i bought the rig the bike needed some work so I unmounted the sidecar. I want to install the sidecar properly since originally it wasn't. I was able remount it temporally but I want your suggestion. It's using what I believe are universal mounts and mounted directly to the frame of the bike, no subframe. I spoke Doug Bingham and he said he would install it and take a couple days but it'll cost me about $850. I want to try and save money as much as possible but worst case if I find it too much to install I'd take it to Doug.

Here are the pics. Please click to enlarge:

Hope you guys can help me out. I would greatly appreciate it.

I think you have all the right stuff.. just a bit of fine tuning left to do..
If the toe-in is off a bit it will feel funnier.. read up on it and play with it..

Yea I just need to be patient and take my time. I'm probably going to remove the actual tub and work with the frame. It'll have a lot less weight and easier to work with.
