Topic: 79 CB750F Front Dual Disc Brake Set Up on 78 CB750F

I recently purchased a 78 CB750F that the previous owner turned into a bobber.  He completely stripped the front end.  All I basically have is the forks, triple trees, wheel, and axle. My plans are to turn this bike into a cafe racer with some slight restoration.

It is proving difficult to find a complete front dual disc brake set up.  I found a set up on eBay, but it is for a '79 CB750F.

Would this set still bolt up a and work on my '78 CB750F.  I will still need a master cylinder and brake lever.

   It will work but you also need the caliper mounting brackets from the dohc, they are often sold with the calipers. The brackets and calipers from the '79-'82 CB750F/900F will work. Other Honda bikes used the same caliper but with different brackets. With all of the right parts it's a simple job, everything bolts right up and you have improved braking with the dual piston calipers.

any body know?
u seem to know ur stuff with these old hondas, i have a 1978 cb750k , do u no if a 81cb750c dual disc front end will fit, or what needs to be done.  the 81 has roller bearings.
i do have a  comstar wheel set also with dual discs it seems the 1981 is like an 1/8 inch wider triple trees

I found a nicer front caliper assembly from a 1980 cb750f. I'll be able to tell you how the I install went. I could even post pics and anything I learned. Stay tuned.
