Noob from West Texas
« on: August 23, 2010, 09:25:44 PM »
Hey, all, this is not my absolute very first post on here so it's clear i don't read instructions. ;D  Apologies if i have offended anyone's sensibilities, haha!

i just bought a 1975 CB550K on ebay about a month ago that i haven't technically even been next to as it's still in San Antonio but i'm totally psyched about it.  Planning on going the cafe racer route (i already set up a build thread on here and made my first entry.)  i know everybody loves pictures so here are my captures from the ebay listing (These are clickable for a bigger picture):

i'll be begging for help soon enough. :)

Anybody else from anywhere near Midland?

Hi Yoda,  nice to see you here.  Don't know of too many members out west, it seems most live in the DFW area or directly south of us in the Houston, San Antonio, or Austin areas.  I'm just north of Dallas myself.

Good luck with the 550.
Just call me Timmaaaaay!!!

Welcome from Austin! Looks like you have a nice start there. Does it run?

It will look good with that new exhaust.

Good Luck.

Hey, thanks for the welcome! I haven't gotten my hands on it yet, but it's not running. PO thinks it just needs the carbs cleaned. Guess we'll see (soon i hope)

True.  Until i see otherwise, though, i'll give him the benefit of the doubt since he's a rider and a Texan :)

Either way, i calculated my purchase price based on it being a nonrunner.

It's better than saying, "It ran 10 years ago when I parked it."   ;D

I don't know if that was ever the case. They're about an hour apart and  midland is much larger. Unless this is a joke? ???
