Not sure what it's worth, but I'd love to have it.

Were they quoting a price for it King ?  Probably cost a bundle to put one together from scratch.  Eric

Parting it out would be a shame, but I'm sure it would double whatever they are asking. Tank alone could should go for 400+

$200 but they took it off at that price after contacting me.  I told them to research it and put it on eBay.  I do not possess the cash it would take to offer them a fair price.

You should offer to get it running for them and take a portion of the ebay sale as payment.   ;D

10 x $200 is still cheap.

I am getting the $18-20K vibe on this one but wanted to put it in front of those that know much more than I.

Irrespective of the "Imola" painted on the side, it looks like a nicely modded CB550 street bike with Campy or EPM wheels to me.... headlight and turn signals... but I would think we'd all need more info on content and condition to make a market value determination.  RR

Any guesses?  I would give $4000 and Carpy has offered $500.

the tail is a bimota kit, the tank looks like something i've seen in the paddock but its not part of the same bimota kit.

the rear sets are a menani kit.

Overall, nice mix of parts, its just the fairing that's sitting all wrong

On the other hand, I race vintage in italy and there's never been such a thing as a "Imola 500". :)

oh well, it sounds good, no?

The coolest part about the bike is that someone went through the effort to build a cool "Racer" before all the current hubbub, it's like finding a true 70's Chopper.

That looks like a put together special, like TG said, that is a Bimota HB1 replica tail and i have seen that tank before but its not the Bimota one. It looks nice but i doubt its worth whats being speculated here...

True if it's been sitting a while then someone built it before all the internet advantage. On the other hand it was also built when there were many more go fast parts available.

There were a lot of visionaries way back when.  ;D

I would say check it out mechnically. Does it run? Does it run well? what are the shocks, and other modifications? Is the tank fiberglass, steel or alloy? If it runs well and rides well then I would say 2000-3000. The price I'm quoting is based on other "cafe racer" bikes I've seen selling that have mostly cosmetic modifications. If it's more along the lines of TG's 500 racer or Paulage hybrid then I would say it's worth more.

Probably the pesimist in me, but I wonder what condition it is in now.  That pics looks like it was the day after a race, 30 some years ago.

The digital date on the camera says November 30, 2010.  The bike looks amazing.

Time stamp is from taking a picture of a picture (or monitor). There is a textured reflection in the middle of the pic that does not follow any contour of the bike.

seems like if you were selling a gem like that you might want to borrow a digital camera and post some decent pics

If I understand King's first post, they had it listed for $200! They obviously did not know what they had!!
