So...Justme, getting back to basics..What's it worth? Obviously more than $200, and as far as the guys wife looking at it like it's junk, well, my wife thinks all my stuff is junk
not an unusual ploy to try to get the seller to come down off the (already low) price a bit, don't let it worry you. Typically a bike without a title is only worth 1/4-1/2 the value of the same bike WITH a title, so if you can get one I'd encourage you to do so. Probably worth a couple grand, maybe more, titled and running, and it might not take much to get it running, there are probably folks in your area who would actually help you with it instead of just giving opinions. Might be worth a grand+ to the right person titled but not running, maybe even a grand to the right person, no title and not running, kinda depends on how long you want to wait for that person and how bad you want it out of the garage. The 5-10 grand thing would be for a bike with proof that the engine and frame were, in fact, race equipment, possibly 20-40 if it was race ready. I am curious, have you checked the VIN or engine numbers to see if it is something special? The ebay guys are right, you could probably get a lot more if you wanted to take the time to part it out, title or not, but it does take more time and effort and it would seem a shame to take it apart. If you do sell it whole on ebay, I'd encourage you to be very forthright about it's current condition and do some more research on it..if someone buys it expecting a racer and it's just another honda with some goodies on it, you might get some negative feedback. I do wish you the best with it, I think it is a very cool looking bike, I think your intentions were good to begin with and I'm sorry your experience here turned out this way, as someone else mentioned, we haven't had such an "exciting" thread in quite a while.
