Fire Fighting Plane

Apparently, this was hired by the State of Israel to fight the Carmel fire.  Very cool!

That looks pretty big!

 We had the Martin Mars bomber on the fires we had here.. they looked pretty impressive flying 300 ft above town. Some of the other bomber we  were watching on the beach one day , they would be  just missing the treetops at the beach, you could see the pilots faces..... really intersting to watch..

They used to keep them at Pat Bay, they were all ex military crew, good to see them still going, at one point they were doing a drop and lost power, they lost president, secretary/treasurer, vice pres when they didn't clear a ridge.

I think that was on Mt. Finlayson just outside of Victoria, B.C. many years ago. I ride by that ridge fairly often.
