Source for "The Original CB750" by John Wyatt?
« on: March 20, 2006, 09:19:01 PM »
After looking through the FAQ and realizing I need more info than the net can provide on this bike 75 CB750,  I need to know of a source for the aforementioned title by John Wyatt. No luck online as of yet.  Also if someone can point me in the direction to obtaining an owners manual for this vehicle that would be great to (hey a factory tool kit would be nice also)

thanks in advance,

Chris.

Owners manuals appear on eBay every now and then. Used examples goes for about 20 bucks; pristine examples can go up to 80 bucks.

Wyatt's book on eBay every now and then. I was lucky and bought mine new a couple of years ago; I tracked an auction the other day and the book sold for about 67 bucks.

Toolkits are reaching outrageous prices too. They are available new from Honda though, at about 60-80 bucks. I already posted about it: if you need tools for roadside repair, buy the tools one by one -quality like craftsman-. They will be cheaper and better. You can always wait until a cheap toolkit appears on eBay if you want originality.

For example, the original toolkit have a screwdriver handle with a reversible blade. I carry with me a hex tip screwdriver with about 20 tips. With the same screwdriver you can even use hex boxes up to 12 or 13 mm.

Good luck on your hunt

Raul

Hey Paul and Chris...
when I bought my 750 it was missing the owners manual and tool kit.
I'd like to at least find a copy of the manual...the took kits were not much use anyway...
I'll keep looking on E-bay...not sure how much it would cost to reproduce them or if Honda would be concerned about copyrights etc..

The Wyatt book is a hard find. I've been looking for months now without any luck. If I were you I wouldn't want to wait on that. Owners Manuals are more common - keep checking e-bay. Good Luck.

So do we recommend something else?  Read some reviews of the Haynes book on the CB750, and from what I understand  from reviews they were a little vague.

You can try Mark Haycock's "Honda CB750 The Complete Story." From what I can gather, it is not as definitive as Hyatt's book, but I've found it very useful as an alternative.
We'll all be someone else's PO some day.
