Here is the top triple that SlikWilli420 made for me.

I bought Tarrozi offset clipons. Quite a bit of adjustment available with these just by rotating the bar in the clamp. I didn't care for the black anodizing the clamps came with so I stripped 'em and brushed the aluminum to match the finish on the rest of my parts. This pic taken with one clamp done, and the other still getting there.

really struggled with tail light and license plate. I knew I didn't want some side mount chopper thing, which is what the bike had in earlier form. And I didn't want to cut my already painted tail section either. Finally, I just realized the stock grab rail provided a simple enough solution. I had to fab up a little bracket for the license plate to work with the K1 tail light.

Finished up the wiring by cleaning every bullet and connector, a little fresh tape, and some sleeving from vintage connections. Digging through spares, I found 3 original fuse boxes, and they all fell apart on me. Here is a pic of the last one I tried to use.

So I hit up Hondaman for his blade fuse conversion box. I also bought one of his ignitions. Awesome and affordable parts. Unfortunately, I didn't manage to get any pics.

However, did manage to get a pic of the cleaning of some original drain hoses...

Got a front fender finalized. If you look in the background there is a very obvious hint as to where I got the idea for this fender.

It was nearly a bolt on to the GL forks. I had to slot the holes and made some aluminum spacers.

Looking good, Kaw had a good design on that fender/brace. What finish is on the caliper, like it better than black.

Yeah Steve-O, I think that fender is a little more rigid than one for a cb-4, although it is Heaaavy. Since I am running a Superbrace forkbrace, I may switch to a lightweight fiberglass one from Airtech at some point...they have a couple that are similar size and shape.

The caliper is bare, brushed aluminum.

I really like the Kawi fender.

A friend is building a Yama XS650 and found this epoxy spray paint.
He's been clear coating his brushed aluminum triples, calipers and bare steel parts.
This is one tough paint.

Thanks Jimmy, especially for the tip. I have had no problems with bare aluminum, although I am not really concerned with it remaining highly polished, as it all has a brushed look anyway. My bikes inevitably see all types of weather and a quick clean up with a good aluminum polish is just part of the regimen.

The spray max is a top dollar performane from a can. It is a 2k urethane if I read correctly, not epoxy. They do have a bility to mix anything you need. Repaint supply can do it, Any color, etc.

The spraymax 2k ckear is very durable and uv stable, but, if what it is coating isn't hard & durable, then it can only do so much

nope...did do Slimey Crud Run last fall with Old Scrambler, that was a blast, definitely want to do that again. I might go to AHRMA race at Road America this year. I have a buddy that works for the ferry service that goes across Lake Michigan, so I can often get a free boat ride...plus some good friends that live in Milwaukee and show me around at night.

I have put about 30 or 40 miles on it so far. GL1000 frontend still needs considerable set up work before it is a real improvement. Engine runs great. I am calling my port work based on Hondamans book plus F2 camshaft a success. Pulls quite strongly from 6000 rpm to apparently higher than I dare to rev. Low end feels better than normal as well. No leaks so far...errr well, after the fixing my neglect of installing an oil pan gasket anyway.
Still have some carb tuning to do...the unbaffled and totally deafening hand bent Yoshimura exhaust is proving mischevious to tune for just off idle. I had it pretty good, then synced the carbs, but that threw it all off again. Probably just needs more air screw adjustment.

Getting sloppy on the bench sync in my old age. Here is what I started with right out of the box. Ran quite well despite the wide spread of vacuum readings, just lots of clutch and chain rattle...
