When I got my CL 90, it was in milk crates. I can't fully figure out why it was dismantled, but it was inexplicably missing 2 dowel pins on the shift drum. I think, it was unused for ages, and when the PO (I'm the 2nd owner) finally decided to revive it in the 80's he put a 12v battery in it, which promptly fried every bulb and the rectifier. When it wouldn't start, maybe he thought it was internal and started pulling things apart. At any rate, It only had 3k miles on it... and I got wind of it from a mechanic friend. I didn't really know I wanted the bike, but at $100, how could I resist. It turns out, this thing is the ultimate bike in Brooklyn and nyc. The roads suck HARD, and the extra travel the 'off-road' CL 90 has is helpful. It's also nimble as hell and will do 60 pretty easy on level ground, getting anywhere from 120 to 170 mpg. I'm 40 years old, and slightly embarrassed at how much I love the little guy. By the way, I'm ready for your battery cover. My painted butter dish looks okay, but I think it deserves better.
And that air cleaner... well, it's a crappy 'hot rod' filter for a 2 bbl from auto zone, married to a coffee can .
P.S. I can't find tires for this thing to save my life. 2.50 and 2.75
