I saw that.  I will do some research and see what I come up with.  Looks like he/she has switched domain names and IP addresses a few times over the past few years.

OK, so I got sick of trying to locate a battery door for the S90. Here is the prototype that I made. I will post them on my store site www.fb-stuff.com when ready. I will also post on ebay because it looks like I have some competition. ::)

This is the first battery cover that has been painted. The guy is very happy about fit and quality.

They are up on my site in primer, or make me an offer through the forum. I listed them twice on ebay and didnt get much interest. Maybe I should just shoot them all black and relist.

Just paint them the stock Honda colors and charge for the paint job.
Most people now are lazy and just want to push a button and get their stuff.

They grew up that way.

You can put me down for one in that  candy blue ! my '69 CL90 is missing it.. and I'm currently using the lid from a square butter dish.. which works ok, believe it or not.

injection mold?

I doubt it because the machining of the steel dies would cost thousands.
Injection molding is for very large production runs.

Of course there are a few companies that specialize in prototypes but
they cost thousands too.

It is one of those OEM new parts in the bag...from Vietnam. I will go check the original petrol lock bowl.

Well boys...it runs. Yesturday was the first time that I have had a chance to wheel the little guy out and put some gas in. NO LIE. first kick fired it. Ran full open and had to shut it down. The new throttle cable is too short, and I had to do some modifications. Got it into 3rd gear out on the street. Such an amazing little bike. Still needs some fine tuning. (when you turn left the engine races) stupid throttle cable.

Two things did go wrong with it.
#1 I had somehow mixed up the clutch and front brake cables. Pretty tough trying to give it gas and let out clutch with the same hand....but I got it done (yes it was fixed)

#2 Put the 90 away, up on the center stand. I stood there in admiration of it for a minute then turned my back to walk away and "CCRRRAAASH" my dirt bike fell over onto it and the two of them were woven into eachother on the floor. (dirtbike was leaning up against the wall). UG.  I didnt see any rash on the 90, just the mirror and righ hand control got twisted around.

Video next time it goes out.

When I got my CL 90, it was in milk crates. I can't fully figure out why it was dismantled, but it was inexplicably missing 2 dowel pins on the shift drum. I think, it was unused for ages, and when the PO (I'm the 2nd owner) finally decided to revive it in the 80's he put a 12v battery in it, which promptly fried every bulb and the rectifier. When it wouldn't start, maybe he thought it was internal and started pulling things apart. At any rate, It only had 3k miles on it... and I got wind of it from a mechanic friend. I didn't really know I wanted the bike, but at $100, how could I resist. It turns out, this thing is the ultimate bike in Brooklyn and nyc. The roads suck HARD, and the extra travel the 'off-road' CL 90 has is helpful. It's also nimble as hell and will do 60 pretty easy on level ground, getting anywhere from 120 to 170 mpg. I'm 40 years old, and slightly embarrassed at how much I love the little guy. By the way, I'm ready for your battery cover. My painted butter dish looks okay, but I think it deserves better.
And that air cleaner... well, it's a crappy 'hot rod' filter for a 2 bbl from auto zone, married to a coffee can .
P.S. I can't find tires for this thing to save my life.  2.50 and 2.75
