Engine swapping
« on: November 18, 2010, 05:44:14 AM »
Does anyone know if the cb450/cb500t engine will fit into Cb350 K4 frame?  The bottom half crankcases look the same.  I have been looking on the internet to try to find another person mad enough to try but so far no luck.

Anyone seen any strange conversions?

I dunno man, those DOHC twins were pretty tall engines. Maybe look in the factory shop manuals for frame measurements?

EDIT: the 72 CB450 in this thread http://forums.sohc4.net/index.php?topic=75013.0 is a single downtube frame, you may have exhaust clearances with a twin downtube frame.

Don't know about your swap, but a 400ex quad engine fits in a cb 500 frame pretty nicely ;D

I read up on the bike, it's not functional but the trans is. IIRC it is a 4 speed
