Anyone have experiance with these mufflers?
« on: December 06, 2010, 08:16:08 PM »

Found a hole in one of my OEM mufflers this weekend. (big enuff to stick my thumb in  :'( )

So I'm looking at possible replacement systems with an eye towards 4 - 2. I'm NOT a big fan of loud exhaust though!

I've also seen MAC 4 - 2 complete systems for about $100 more than the above slip ons and would be interested in hearing about them.

I don't have specific experience with the exhaust your looking at, but I have the MAC 4 - 2 Turnout complete system, and I think they're to loud... for what it's worth.

Try CycleX. I bought their 4 into 2 into 1 & I love it! Not real loud and the bike runs great with it! I have a 78 CB750.

I know they sound good cut off and the baffle removed.  I have them running here:

I have a system similar to those, but not exact.  The mounting system is different, but the mufflers look exactly the same, so I'm not sure if i have an older MAC or if it's a different brand but similar type.
So anyway, I really like my mufflers.  They look pretty good, and I like the sound.  Not terribly loud, but noisier than stock.  Here's what they sound like at idle:

I should mention that the chrome isn't that great.  It pretty much matches the somewhat crappy Honda chrome, so I like it.

King, Is that the slip on system in your video, or is it one of the Mac complete 4 - 2 system? It sounds nice but loud without the baffles. But that's prolly the sound of a well tuned motor, as much as the pipes! 8)
