That paint probably looks #$%*ing amazing in person and the pictures hardly do it justice I'm sure.

I was just happy that the painter pushed himself to do an even better job than the first time. Great guy all around. I can't wait till the leather seat and badge are put on. That's the cherry.

So my job for this week was to order all the misc. parts to bring the bike into the final stages.

Since the bike is so clean, two parts have been sticking out as they have a bit of rust on them and they are the top fork nuts (highly noticeable on that shiny new triple tree) and the rear brake arm.

From a form standpoint, I think that the speedometer/gauges stick out a bit too much and take away from the bike when viewed from the profile. Our solution was to get an Acewell which will have more function and also keep the geometry in tact.

Grabbed a CRG mirror for the left side as well to finish that off.

Unfortunately the company I ordered the brake lever from called me back and said they don't have it in stock at all. So the search continues.

Hey if it's Prince or the Stones then please don't make me choose...

Regardless, I'm baffled (yes pun) as what to do with the muffler "Kerker" badge. I want it off. I can handle having two little holes where the rivets are, but Dave says he thinks there's a glue behind the badge, can anyone confirm or deny this?

Also might just remove the old badge and make a new one

Looks amazing...my only suggestion would be to polish your lower forks...they polish up really nice and its pretty easy

Just closed up shop for the evening and took a few more photos of Anthony's CB750 on my way out. There's still a handful of items on the To Do list but she's 98% there.  Just finished installing the new Motogadget M Lock, setting up the Dyna Ignition, and a bit of tuning work.

The bike fired right up after a long slumber and sounds quite nice with the CR's and Kerker 4 into 1. This is my first time working with CR carbs and I'm curious to see how they work out for street application.

*The Motogadget RFID ignition was a really nice finishing touch and works spot on. If anyone's working on a minimal looking build or looking for a nice keyless set up- this is worth checking out. Easy installation and the bike powers up by waving a key fob over a sensor which is hidden in an easily accessible location. Some jedi looking magic when you go to turn the bike on.

*The Benji Tank and Seat Combo was a bit rough to work with and install. Hyam at Dr Moto did a miraculous job with the refinishing and paint work and managed to salvage some otherwise rowdy looking parts. Fitment was a major issue and I ended up cutting/welding the mounting plates and re-drilling the mounting holes in order to get everything installed. There was a massive amount of bondo in both pieces and the weight is off the charts. Petcock holes were drilled out backwards and the original tail light wasn't close to flush mounted. I hate to badmouth anyone's work and efforts but I was ready to stab myself in the face after countless hours spent trying to get these "bolt on" parts to look presentable and mount properly.

Oh- one quick question- does anyone happen to have or know where to source a set of stock CB750 exhaust studs? We need all 8. I've been looking everywhere but no luck. I'm using metric bolts at present but would like to swap them out if possible. Thanks!

One of my favorite looking bikes.  The color choice and lines are spot on.  Good job.

Ill second the above in regards to Benjis stuff.   The over all aesthetic is great, but dont buy it expecting it to be perfect.  I think its probably 70% ready to install.  Ive done a lot of refinishing and fitting to get the tank and tail to fit and meet my standards.  This is generally true of the aftermarket but you wont see it advertised...  Im shopping for my first TIG and will be building my own tank and tail next time.

I can't believe how good it's looking at this point.

Definitely changing the handgrips to black to keep the focal points on the seat and tank.

Getting new decals made for the tank now. The ones I got were great but when I was putting them on they just tore and had cracks so I instantly nixed that idea. I'm going to redesign the wing logo a little bit, nothing drastic, more inline to fit with the color scheme on the bike. I need to accent the cream color. The plate puller under the seat is a really nice touch that I'm happy with.

Nice. Yea I wouldn't have picked the colors myself but damn they look good. You build style is almost the same as mine. I used an RFID on my last bike and am building it into my CB too. I look at keys and a lock and think they belong on a barn door not a custom bike. Are you planing on keeping or selling this when it's done? I've had people ask for mine and it's not even done.

Definitely going to be keeping this and riding it everywhere in the city. It'll be a daily bike for me which, for some, might seem stupid since there's so much put into it but I love riding. I'm not into looking at bikes as much as I am riding them. The only challenge will be parking and ultra high maintenance. But that comes with the territory.

Nice job!!
I think that exhaust tubular bracket is going to cause a problem. It is very long.
The fact that the weight of the exhaust system will be bouncing up and down
will eventually cause the frame to get a fracture near the welded joint .

To prevent that I would add a chrome or stainless polished strut (very small) going up to the shock nut. The way it is now it will allow movement of the exhaust system at the cylinder head ports when bouncing up and down.

I understand what you're saying but I'd put money on it it'll never be an issue. You could literally hang onto the end of that bracket.

TEST RODE THE BIKE TODAY!

Need to fix the rear sets as it was hard to maneuver with them the way they are. Looking into other options now.

She runs beautiful otherwise. Can't wait to get on the highway and open her up a bit. That won't be for over a week I'd guess with the little tinkering that needs to be done.

Last in line:
Tank badge/sticker I designed
new velocity stacks with filters on them
rear sets sorted
polish the forks
move the plate puller down a slight bit

Then take some photos and celebrate to two+ years and 9 months of David literally almost shutting down his business to get this thing through the real hurdles.

What specifically are the issues with the rearsets?

They are angled such that my foot is already extended downwards so to go further is really uncomfortable. Plus my foot barely gets under the peg.

You should be able to adjust them.  What other options are you looking at?

Get that thing on the road and start riding!!!!  I want to see that pass me in the neighborhood next week! :)

I ordered the Dime City set and their linkage, going to use the Raask mounting brackets though.

Yeah for real, I can't wait to ride it. You happen to know the closest garage to me? I'm thinking the Edge but maybe there's something closer.

You should really consider the Joker Machine rearsets. I have them on my 78 build and they are great. Fully adjustable.

The closest are the outdoor ones. Edge is probably closest for a good indoor type.
